Following court hearings in June 2024 and February 2025, Enfield Council has obtained an injunction banning certain named boaters and ‘persons unknown’ from mooring on land it owns on the offside of the River Lea at Edmonton, adjacent to Orbital Business Park. A final injunction was granted on 12th February 2025 against Persons Unknown and will remain in force until 31st March 2027.
Until 1st April 2027, anyone (even if they are not named) who moors on the stretch of offside land on the Lea approximately between Bridge 27, Chalk Bridge, and Bridge 28, Bleak Hall Bridge (North Circular Road) which according to Enfield Council is part of the huge Meridian Water property development, risks being found guilty of contempt of Court and possibly imprisoned, fined or their assets seized.
