Please object to closure of moorings at Osney Island, Oxford

The Environment Agency (EA) has closed all the moorings at Osney Island on the Thames in Oxford. These are the only moorings available and the EA’s actions will cause considerable problems for all boaters visiting Oxford. The EA says that the structure needs to be replaced. However, mooring is still possible using mooring pins; the bank is sound and is no different to any other part of the river that doesn’t have bollards. Please write to the EA requesting the use of pins until the work is done and ask the EA to schedule the works over several weeks in order to leave at least 30% of the moorings available at any one time.
