Membership of the National Bargee Travellers Association is free at present, but we invite members to contribute a voluntary donation.
There are two types of membership:
Ordinary membership is open to itinerant liveaboard boat dwellers
Associate membership is open to any individual or organisation who supports the aims of the NBTA
The NBTA Constitution is here
Please tell us what skills you have to offer; we always need more people who can help in campaigning, action or advising boat dwellers of their rights and how to uphold them.
To join, please
– complete the online membership form here
or
– email secretariat@bargee-traveller.org.uk with your name, boat name, email address, phone number, where you navigate, and what skills you can offer.
or
– phone 0118 321 4128, say you want to become a member, and give your name, boat name, phone number, where you navigate, and what skills you can offer.
PLEASE NOTE memberships are processed in batches every few weeks so please don’t panic if it seems that you have been ignored – you have not (!) BUT if you are seeking help because of enforcement by navigation or other authorities or denial of services please contact casework@bargee-traveller.org.uk
Members are welcome to recruit other boaters and supporters to become NBTA members.
We don’t have the resources to carry out intensive membership administration, so your membership will last for the length of time you choose. Members will be sent information and announcements by email as and when they are available. This is on average about one email every two or three weeks.
We invite you to make a contribution, for example your time helping to advise other itinerant boat dwellers, coming to meetings, or lobbying local or central Government. If you would like to make a cash donation please see this page.
