Canal & River Trust (CRT), which manages most of the inland waterways in England and Wales, is marginalising travelling boat dwellers by planning to impose a ‘surcharge’ on boaters for not having a home mooring. CRT is trying to destroy our nomadic way of life. Let’s come together to oppose this surcharge on our community!

National Protest, 25th November
There will be a national protest march on CRT boss Richard Parry’s offices at Cambrian Wharf in Central Birmingham on Saturday 25th November 2023! Meet at 12 noon in Birmingham City Centre Gardens B1 2NP. Fight CRT’s divisive licence fee hikes! Get ready to march in protest! If you can, bring boats and moor them outside their offices.

This follows a massive campaign meeting on 9th October attended by around 300 people. The meeting showed a strong opposition to CRT’s surcharge on boats without home mooring and lots of productive discussion and ideas.
