Smoke control order consultations in Camden and Cambridge, deadline 20th March for Camden and 20th April for Cambridge

London Borough of Camden and Cambridge City Council are both preparing to enact a Smoke Control Order that will include moored boats for the first time. The Smoke Control Orders could fine people up to £300 for producing smoke from a chimney and/or burning wood in a non-Defra approved stove. Don’t let the council fine you for heating your home!

The Camden consultation ends on Thursday 20th March 2025. See the https://consultations.wearecamden.org/supporting-communities/smoke-control-order-2025/ and https://consultations.wearecamden.org/supporting-communities/smoke-control-order-2025/consultation/intro/ to register your opposition to the Smoke Control Order against moored boats.

The Cambridge consultation ends on Sunday 20th April 2025. See https://engage.cambridge.gov.uk/en-GB/projects/smoke-control-area-expansion to register your opposition to the Smoke Control Order against moored boats.
