The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) is running an online survey to “understand the use of solid fuels within the inland boating community”. The survey is voluntary, confidential and anonymous. The deadline has been extended to 7th November.NBTA had a discussion with a DEFRA representative and emphasised that most boaters have no alternative to heating our homes with solid fuel and many rely on fallen or scrap wood for their heating to be affordable.
