River Thames Alliance in disarray after District Enforcement chief appointed to Board
The River Thames Alliance (RTA) could face mass resignations at a critical meeting if proposals to change its unaccountable governance structure are not agreed at the forthcoming AGM on 4th September 2018. Currently RTA members have no say in the appointment of the Alliance’s directors.

Fight the EA waterways registration fee increases: please respond to consultation by 30th August
Boaters on waterways managed by the Environment Agency (EA) are facing steep increases in boat registration fees well above inflation. The EA is consulting on proposals for increases in 2019 to 2020 and 2020 to 2021. The consultation ends on Thursday 30th August 2018. Canal & River Trust evict pensioner, 67
Canal & River Trust seized the boat of a 67 year old pensioner on 27th March 2018, leaving the man and his dog homeless. The charity towed the man’s home away from the River Lea in East London. The boat is likely to be destroyed.
